Job Description

Reporting to the Division Head – Engineering, you manage, control and coordinate all your section’s activities related to the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux’s building stock, including all renovation and new construction work, as well as energy efficiency maintenance and improvement.

 

Team-oriented, your challenges will include, among others:

 

  • Planning, organizing, managing, controlling and coordinating construction projects and work on new municipal buildings and the retrofitting of existing buildings
  • Preparing technical information and specifications, analyzing bids and making appropriate recommendations
  • Monitoring and analyzing the progress of contracts and, where required, applying the necessary corrective and preventative measures
  • Overseeing the completion of work in your activity sector and approving relevant technical documents
  • Collaborating on the planning and supervision of design work and implementation of various building mechanical systems, including ventilation, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration, and collaborating on the completion of mechanical and electrical projects
  • Planning short-term, medium and long-term work in your activity sector
  • Planning and including sustainable development in building operations practices

Qualifications required

Profile

  • Undergraduate degree in construction engineering, building engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in the management of construction/renovation projects
  • Bilingualism, French and English
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Employment status

  • 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday
  • 15 paid holidays and 5 floating holidays

  • 2022 salary range from $81,059 to $105,377
