Our Civic Center has 3 arenas where residents can participate in a wide range of programs offered in partnership with our sports associations: hockey, figure skating, ringuette and speed skating.
Several public skating sessions are offered throughout the week for family enjoyment.
Various tournaments and sporting events are hosted at the Civic Center. In the off-season, the lobby and arenas are also used for craft fairs, exhibitions, shows, concerts and other events.
Bistro*** and a Pro-shop are conveniently located near the arenas and pools.

Public skating for DDO residents
The City, in collaboration with the Dollard Hockey Association, is pleased to offer public skating to DDO residents (proof of residency required).
The cost is $2 for ages 5 and up payable at the door in cash only. For children under 5 years old, it is free.
Public skating for non residents
Public skating is also offered to non residents at the cost of $3 for all ages.
Helmets
Participants 12 and under must wear an ANCOR/CSA certified helmet (however, a helmet is recommended for all), and must be accompanied by a skater 13 years and older.

- Saturdays: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Sundays: 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Public skating for adults (25 years and older) from August 24, 2022 to May 4, 2023
Public skating sessions for adults (25 years and older) are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Change rooms will be posted on the bulletin boards.

Schedule for park chalets:
Centennial Park:
Weekdays 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekends 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Other Parks:
Weekdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekends 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Holiday schedule for park chalets:
December 24, 25, 26, 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and
January 1st and 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The benches in the chalets are also accessible this year! You must however respect the physical distance of two (2) meters, the maximum capacity inside the chalet is 8 people and wearing a face cover is mandatory inside the chalets.
Frequently asked questions
On storm days, the snow removal priorities is the streets, the parkings and the sidewalks. With the teams concentrating on these tasks to assure people’s security, it is not always possible to prepare the rinks.
The preparation and maintenance of outdoor rinks needs lots of patience and repetition. Despite our efforts to open the rinks as soon and as frequently as possible, many factors, as the weather, can stop the opening.

The ground must be properly frozen. For this, the temperature must be lower than -5°C, day and night, during at least 7 consecutive days. To fix the cracks, a minimum of 10cm of snow is required. The ice must then be flooded 2 or 3 times per day, during 5 to 7 consecutive days, with a temperature of -7°C. As soon as the weather rises at -3°C and over during the preparation, the ice prepared the day before melrs. The teams must start all over. If it is too cold, it is impossible to flood the ice.
Throughout winter, a number of fraze-defrost cycles can affect the rinks. After many days with temperatures over 0°C, the ice softens, making the rink unsafe and breakable. It is then required to wait for freezing conditions. The surface of the refrozen ice is not as good quality and the steps must be redone before you can be allowed to skate in a safe environment.
This is why we are asking all citizens to cooperate by not skating when the rinks are closed, either during preparation or maintenance.
Clock on “Online Services” then on “Conditions of winter facilities”. You will then see the status of the parks’ facilities. This page is updated everyday. You can register on the page to receive a notification when the status of your favorite facilities change.
Select “login” on the top right and follow the instructions to create an account. You can also click directly on the bell near the facility you want and you will access the page to open an account. When your account is created, select the bells for your favorite facilities.

Depending on the availability of the teams and equipments, and on the weather, ideally rink scan be flooded up to 5 times per week. This calls for cold weather and no snow.
For the security of users. Some rinks are intended for hockey.
Strollers are only allowed on the public skating rinks. Security must be prioritized. We ask you limit the number of strollers when there are many skaters.
