Small branches
Small tree branches are picked up during the organic waste collection. Branches must not exceed 25 mm (1 in.) in diameter and be tied in bunches. No bunch may exceed 1.2 m (4 ft.) in length and 50 cm (18 in.) in diameter.
Bunched tree branches may be left beside the brown bin for pickup with other organic waste as of 7 p.m. on the evening before collection day.
Large diameter branches
Large quantities of tree branches and large diameter branches (4 inch max.) are picked up by special collection.
Special collection and conditions
- The City provides a tree branch collection service for minor pruning done by residents but not for work done by contractors.
- The service is offered up to a maximum of one hour of work or two collections annually by Public Works Department employees.
- Any additional service will be charged to the resident at an hourly rate set by the City, 150$ per additional hour of work.
Special collection times and Timeframe
- Large-diameter branch collection service is offered from May 1 to October 31.
- Branches are usually collected between five working days, following the request from a resident to City offices.

You can register your request for pickup 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between May 1 and October 31.
COVID-19
Usually, branch collection takes place, at your request, within five business days, depending on the traffic period. Please note that due to the pandemic situation of covid-19, this timeframe may be longer due to reduced staff at work. Please be assured that your request will be kept on file and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before making an online request for branch pickup hereafter, you must be cognizant of the following:
- Thick or long branches must be piled with the cut section facing the street, near but not on the street or sidewalk.
- Bushes must be free of roots and soil.
- Diameter of branches: 4 inch max.
- To make sure our employees can work safely in this time of COVID-19, please keep 2 metres of distance with them when they are on your property.
The branch pickup season is over for the year 2021
